Add wedges to your golf bag for successful approaches near the green. Discover our wedges for left and right handed golfers.

Unlike PW, SW, GW and LB, classic wedges have a number corresponding to the degree of the loft and are not included in the iron set. For some years now, golfers preferre wedges (a much more technical and precise) to wedges with letters.

How to choose your wedge(s)?

There are as many wedges as there are lofts (generally from 46° to 62°) but 48°, 52°, 56° and 60° wedges are the most popular. In addition, it is essential to select your wedge in relation to the last loft in your iron set. For example, if the last club is a 43° PW, the wedge to pick is a 48° and then a 52° for the second. In general, it should be a 4°/5° gap between two wedges.

As for the shaft, there are two types of shaft: steel and graphite and various flexes.

Finally, wedges are used on the edge of the green for approaches and exits from bunkers (since they provide short but high shots), they have a different bounce in order to control approaches and ball effects:

A low bounce corresponds to a bounce between 0° and 10°, ideal for hard lies; a standard bounce corresponds to a bounce between 10° and 16° and is the most versatile; finally a high bounce corresponds to a bounce above 16° and is ideal for soft lies.
